About the Role
You’ll be fabricating and assembling structural steel components from detailed workshop drawings, using MIG/Arc welding, gas cutting, and modern workshop equipment. This is a practical, workshop-based role working on varied and interesting projects.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Fabricating structural steel components to a high standard
- Reading and working from workshop drawings
- Cutting, drilling, preparing, and tack welding steel components
- Operating workshop equipment safely and efficiently
- Ensuring quality standards are met and re-work is minimized
- Keeping your work area clean, safe, and organized
- Recording time and job details accurately
- Contributing to continuous improvement and safety initiatives
- Experience in structural steel fabrication
- Welding qualifications (AS/NZS 2980:2007)
- Ability to interpret workshop drawings
- Strong attention to detail and pride in quality work
- A reliable team player with good communication skills
- Experience in the structural steel industry
- Trade or general engineering qualification
