This role suits someone who takes ownership of site safety, communicates clearly, and understands the responsibility that comes with supervising traffic control on active civil sites. You’ll be trusted to run traffic management properly, support your team, and maintain high standards at all times.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading and supervising traffic management on civil construction sites
- Implementing and maintaining approved Traffic Management Plans (TMPs)
- Briefing and overseeing Traffic Controllers on site
- Ensuring all traffic control measures meet NZTA and site requirements
- Liaising with site supervisors, councils, and contractors
- Monitoring compliance, safety, and site conditions throughout the day
- Managing site documentation and traffic management records

Required experience and tickets These are required and are a barrier to entry:
- Current STMS qualification Level 1
- Proven experience supervising traffic management on civil sites
- Strong understanding of TMPs and traffic management requirements
- ConstructSafe or Site Safe
- Full Class 1 Drivers License required, Class 2 beneficial
- Experience on roading or large scale infrastructure projects
- Leadership or mentoring experience
- Additional traffic management or civil tickets
