Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, load, tie-in, and fire blasts in accordance with site procedures and regulations
• Conduct pre- and post-blast inspections to ensure safety and compliance
• Handle and transport explosives safely and securely
• Work closely with drill & blast teams to meet daily production targets
• Maintain accurate records of blasting activities and inventory usage
• Perform safety checks on equipment and initiate corrective actions when needed

• Previous experience in open-cut coal mine operations
• Solid understanding of blast patterns, timing, and site procedures
• Commitment to working safely and following all site regulations
• Ability to work in a team and communicate clearly under pressure

• Current Shotfirer Licence (relevant to state/territory)
• Standard 11 (Surface Induction)
• Coal Board Medical – current or willing to obtain
• Relevant RII Competencies (e.g. RIIBLA201D, RIIBLA205D, RIIBLA304D)
• Valid Driver’s Licence (manual; HR preferred)
• Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
• Must be eligible to obtain or already hold SSAN clearance
