What You’ll Be Doing
- Safely execute surface shotfiring operations in line with blast plans and safety standards
- Manage explosives delivery, storage, and usage with precision
- Supervise crews during blast loading, tie-ins, and initiation
- Oversee post-blast safety and re-entry procedures
- Proactively identify and manage blast-related risks
- Champion safety improvements and compliance every day
- Proven experience as a Shotfirer in mining environments
- Solid knowledge of explosives, blasting procedures & safety protocols
- Strong risk management and hazard mitigation skills
- Team player with excellent communication and leadership abilities
- Passionate about upholding a strong safety culture
- Current Shotfirer License (state-specific)
- Open Manual Driver’s License
- Valid Security Clearance & Police Checks
- S11 & Coal Board Medical
- Desirable but not essential RII Competencies:
- RIIBLA201A – Support Shotfirer Operations
- RIIBLA301A – Conduct Surface Shotfiring Operations
- RIIRIS301A – Apply Risk Management Processes
- RIICOM301A – Communicate Information
