We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join a respected heavy equipment provider servicing construction and earthmoving machinery across Tauranga and the wider region. This role offers strong earning potential, variety, and a supportive team culture.

- Time and a half after 8 hours each day

- 3+ years’ post‑trade experience in New Zealand
- Strong background with construction or earthmoving machinery
- Confident using electronic diagnostics
- Solid hydraulics knowledge
- Fit, safety‑focused, and reliable
- A self‑starter who works well independently and enjoys a good team environment
In this position, you’ll diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of construction and heavy equipment both in the workshop and out in the field. You’ll use electronic diagnostic tools, troubleshoot hydraulic and mechanical issues, and work closely with the workshop and parts team to ensure smooth workflow.
Key tasks include:
- Mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical diagnostics
- Preventative maintenance and component repairs
- Attending field breakdowns as required
- Daily communication with workshop and parts departments
- Accurate completion of paperwork, job cards, and timecards
