About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Surveyor to manage and deliver surveying activities across a variety of civil construction and earthworks projects. You’ll take ownership of set‑outs, earthworks design, as‑built documentation, and survey reporting—ensuring accuracy, compliance, and high‑quality outcomes on every project.
This role also plays a key part in supporting project managers, supervising junior surveyors, and working closely with clients, consultants, and contractors to deliver successful project results.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Carry out cut/fill calculations and prepare detailed survey drawings
  • Produce topographical surveys, cross‑sections, maps, and technical reports
  • Conduct field surveys and update construction drawings with accurate data
  • Operate GPS, total stations, levels, theodolites, and maintain calibration records
  • Use Civil CAD, Magnet, and Trimble Business Center for survey data processing
  • Set out drainage, roads, boundaries, and structures to design specifications
  • Supervise civil works to ensure construction aligns with plans
  • Prepare high‑quality as‑built plans using Magnet software
  • Maintain accurate survey records, registers, and documentation
  • Provide measurement data for progress claims and assist with reporting
  • Validate subcontractor survey outputs and provide recommendations
  • Liaise with clients and consultants to clarify survey requirements
  • Contribute to survey proposals and project methodology
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental standards
About You

You will thrive in this role if you bring:
  • 5+ years’ experience in surveying within civil construction or earthworks
  • Strong proficiency in Civil CAD, Magnet, and Trimble Business Center
  • Advanced skills working with GPS, total stations, and modern survey equipment
  • Excellent ability in cut/fill calculations, set‑outs, and as‑built preparation
  • High attention to detail and technical accuracy
  • Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills
  • Experience supervising or mentoring junior surveyors
  • Ability to manage multiple project priorities with strong organisation
