About the Role
Our client is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead civil and structural projects across parks, reserves, and outdoor visitor infrastructure. You’ll balance hands‑on technical leadership with full project lifecycle management—delivering designs that are compliant, buildable, and grounded in real‑world constructability.
You'll lead condition assessments, feasibility studies, engineering design, planning and consents, and construction oversight. This role includes a strong client‑facing component, working closely with iwi, councils, contractors, and specialists.
What You’ll Do
- Lead engineering design for tracks, structures, bridges, and outdoor assets
- Conduct condition assessments and feasibility studies across technical, social, cultural, and environmental dimensions
- Oversee project planning, budgeting, risk management, and construction delivery
- Present technical solutions to clients and stakeholders, including non‑technical audiences
- Mentor junior and intermediate engineers and support their CPEng development
