Overview
We are working with a national construction firm who are seeking a senior site manager for a major project in Christchurch. The project is large-scale commercial, comprising of heavy steel and precast construction with post tensioned concrete slab.
As the Senior Site Manager, you will be looking after the complete construction of multiple work phases and will have a team of three permanent site managers a project manager and QS based on site. This is also a Greenstar project so any experience here would be advantageous.
Role functions include
- A focus on communication with stakeholders, as this is site based
- Planning as all work areas require a work plan to be produced and presented to the client for approval prior to works being allowed to start.
- Quality assurance and understanding the inspection test plan for hold points for inspection and recording at the key points in the construction programme.
- Health & safety will be a key focus, working in a controlled environment where you will have to adhere to client specific rules
- Managing sub trades, working directly on a daily basis with the client,
- Managing supervisors, foreman and labourers, understanding the importance of managing the programme and setting sub trade targets to achieve the programme,
- Working out methodologies and sequencing to best suit the project and being able to write task analysis or JSA's to manage the risk and identify the control measures required under health & safety.
- Check works onsite with a view to preparing non-conformance reports for QA and discussing with the sub-contractors with confidence and the knowledge gained from understanding the detail.
A base salary reflective of this senior role plus ute, phone, laptop, fuel card etc.
