We are looking for a Manufacturing-focused engineer responsible for optimising site operations, driving best-practice precast manufacturing processes, and ensuring safe, efficient, high quality production. You will be responsible for leading technical support, process improvement and project delivery while improving productivity, cost, quality and delivery performance. You will also promote a positive Health and Safety culture. You duties will include:
- Promote and maintain a strong safety-first culture across the site
- Interpret shop drawings and manufacturing standards (NZS3101, NZS3109, NZS4058)
- Develop and maintain SOPs for safe and accurate precast manufacture
- Provide technical direction to the team for reinforcement, moulds, penetrations, pours, curing, lifting and finishing
- Use CAD to review/edit drawings and support manufacturing accuracy
- Ensure all drawings, materials, moulds, plant and labour are ready to meet production plans and customer expectations
- Monitor WIP, output, downtime, waste and rework
- Drive continuous improvement in QC/QA, reporting and production systems
- Attend pre-start checks and toolbox talks and be a regular voice for the team
- Ensuring adequate resources are available for effective execution of the production plan
- Coaching and developing the team members
Skills & Experience
Due to the nature of the role, to be successful in this role you will need:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Construction Engineering (or equivalent)
- Minimum 3 years experience in a precast manufacturing environment
- Experience in process improvement, problem-solving and production engineering
- Experience in a concrete manufacturing facility is preferred
- Effective communication skills and ability to be a decision-maker
- Good leadership and people management skills
- Strong IT skills – you will be working on computers daily
- Excellent understanding of Health & Safety procedures
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- To be able to pass a Drug & Alcohol test
- A great attitude and willingness to learn
