About the role:

This Brisbane based position provides specialist HSE support to the Head of HSECT for the Muswellbrook site
transition from active mining to closure and rehabilitation by coordinating compliance activities, tracking
obligations and actions and supporting regulator engagement in line with Development Consent,
Environmental Protection Licence and NSW regulatory requirements.
  
The role works closely with the Project Manager, H&S Consultant, internal stakeholders, contractors and
regulators to support risk management, reporting, evidence collation and system updates throughout the
transition period. The role operates with a high level of autonomy within governance and approval
frameworks, providing flexible, short term support aligned to regulatory closure timeframes.
  
Previous HSE Advisor operational experience working at a mine site would be highly beneficial as then you could hit the ground running. Travel to the Muswellbrook site would be required on a ad-hoc basis.

What we’re looking for:

You believe in fostering a positive work culture and ongoing growth, ensuring we always put our people first.
  • Tertiary qualifications in health, safety OR environment discipline
  • Demonstrated experience working within health, safety and/or environmental regulatory frameworks, preferably within mining and heavy industry ideally at a site level
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply Development Consents, Environmental Protection Licences and regulatory requirements
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including interaction with regulators, consultants and internal leaders.
  • Experience coordinating contractors, managing documentation and supporting compliance reporting.
  • Experience using action management or risk systems (e.g. Evotix or similar).
  • Strong capability in document management, reporting and evidence collation.
