About the role:

We are looking for an Senior Environmental Advisor to join us at our Boggabri mine, an open-cut coal operation producing up to 8.6 million tonnes per annum, and with a mine life extending through until 2036. Boggabri mine is located near Boggabri, Gunnedah and Narrabri, regional towns which offer community spirit and a unique and diverse country lifestyle.
  
The Senior Environment Advisor supports the operation to ensure that the mine operates in an environmentally, culturally responsible, and sustainable way, by maintaining and implementing management
systems, services and supporting capabilities. The role ensures activities conducted by the environmental team and contractors are undertaken in a safe manner and are compliance with mine approvals, standards, and site operating procedures.

About you:

You believe in fostering a positive, collaborative work culture - ensuring we always put our people first.
  • Graduate degree in Environmental Science or equivalent tertiary qualifications with a minimum of 5 years environmental management experience
  • Knowledge of environmental planning approval processes, environmental management, mine site compliance, sustainable principles, and key environmental issues.
  • Experience with environmental planning and protection legislation and reporting requirements of Local, State and Federal Governments
  • Good working knowledge of NSW regulatory environment and government policy framework
  • Experience in stakeholder management
