Stellar is excited to be partnering with a leading Resources and Energy company to recruit a Senior Contracts Advisor.
  
About the Role
  
We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Senior Contracts Advisor to join the expanding Contracts and Procurement team. This is a critical role that supports operational delivery through the effective development, management, and administration of contracts across specialised service categories.
  
Reporting to the Principal Category Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring that business units have timely access to competitively priced services by leading tendering processes, negotiating with suppliers, and managing contracts with both local and international vendors.
  
You will work closely with operational teams and key internal stakeholders — including Legal, Governance, Vendor Management, Strategic Sourcing, Category Management, Warehouse, Logistics, and Inventory — to understand business requirements and deliver practical, compliant, and value-driven contracting solutions.

Key Responsibilities include
  • Develop and implement contracting strategies aligned with organisational goals
  • Mentor and guide two Contract Advisors / Analysts
  • Lead tender processes, supplier negotiations, and contract formulation
  • Ensure strict compliance with the Delegated Authority Manual and procurement policies
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Provide expert advice on contract structure, pricing, and risk management
  • Identify and mitigate contractual and commercial risks
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function
  • Monitor performance against procurement timelines and business requirements
  • Prepare reports, statistics, and presentations related to contract performance
  • Attend and contribute to procurement and project meetings
  • Ensure ethical conduct, transparency, and integrity in all commercial dealings  
Key skills and experience required
  • At least 8 years’ hands-on experience in contract advisor position within the mining / energy / resources sectors
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Law, or related field (preferred)
  • Experience using SAP MM and/or Coupa procurement systems
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A proactive, collaborative, and customer-focused mindset
  • Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders and competing priorities
  • A commitment to safety, integrity, and ethical business practices
