As a Senior BAS Accountant, you'll work alongside a skilled and friendly team to deliver high-quality compliance and advisory services. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, mentoring others, and engaging directly with clients.
You'll play an active role in guiding junior staff, supporting workflow and technical queries, and helping maintain a positive, high-performing team culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a diverse portfolio of clients across different structures and industries
- Prepare and review financial statements and tax returns to a high standard
- Assist with complex tax matters, including planning and group structures
- Prepare management reports and cashflow forecasts as required
- Communicate directly with clients and key stakeholders
- Support and mentor junior team members
- Contribute to continuous improvement across systems and processes
What You’ll Bring:
- CA qualification (or equivalent) and at least 4 years’ experience in public practice
- Sound technical accounting knowledge and understanding of NZ tax and compliance
- Experience with Xero, Xero Practice Manager, and Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A supportive, collaborative approach to mentoring and coaching others
