About the Role
This senior leadership position requires extensive experience in HSEQ management within Tier 1 construction environments. You will provide strategic direction and operational oversight across multiple major projects, ensuring robust systems, strong compliance, and a proactive safety-first culture throughout the South Island.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all HSEQ activities across the South Island, with particular focus on major and high-risk projects
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve HSEQ management systems aligned to ISO standards
- Mentor and lead regional HSEQ teams, driving performance, engagement, and compliance
- Work closely with operational and project leaders to embed best-practice HSEQ frameworks
- Support the implementation and optimisation of digital HSEQ systems
Skills & Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Civil Construction, Construction Management, or a related discipline
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in senior HSEQ roles within Tier 1 construction companies
- Proven experience managing ISO-certified systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001)
- Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing HSEQ teams
- Experience implementing and managing digital HSEQ platforms
