Intermediate Quantity Surveyor - Fitouts, Structural/Seismic
An established Auckland-based subcontractor is looking for an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to support pricing and delivery across seismic strengthening and high-end interior projects. This is a hands-on role for someone with solid technical skills and a strong understanding of trade-based pricing.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed take-offs and cost plans from drawings and specifications
- Price from first principles across relevant trades
- Assist in compiling competitive tender submissions
- Work with project managers and site teams to track and manage costs
- Support ECI (Early Contractor Involvement) where applicable
- Liaise with main contractors, consultants, and suppliers
- Identify and manage variations and assist with monthly claims
- 3-5 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying role, preferably subcontractor-side
- Strong technical knowledge of construction methods and trade packages
- Confident in measurement, BOQ development, and pricing
- Seismic work or architectural interiors experience is an advantage
- Proficient in Excel; experience with CostX or similar tools beneficial
- Good communicator and commercially minded
