Take control of the numbers that shape major commercial HVAC projects across the South Island. In this role, you’re at the heart of my clients design & build team, turning mechanical drawings into accurate cost plans, managing budgets, and ensuring every project runs smoothly from start to finish.

What your role looks like:

• Measure and price HVAC projects including ductwork, VRF, and water-based systems
• Prepare schedules of quantities (SOQ) and detailed cost estimates
• Interpret mechanical drawings and specifications with precision
• Ensure projects comply with New Zealand Building Code and seismic standards
• Follow up on quotes, proposals, and alternative solutions with clients
• Collaborate with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to deliver projects on time
• Keep up-to-date with new products and technologies through supplier training

• Previous experience in HVAC quantity surveying or a related field
• Strong knowledge of mechanical drawings and specifications
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Professional presentation and relationship-building skills
• Willingness to occasionally travel out of town
• Advanced Microsoft Word and Excel skills
• Experience with value engineering to identify savings opportunities is an added bonus
