2026 and beyond is proving to be a busy time with a strong pipeline of works for this national construction firm seeking an additional project manager to be located in Christchurch. The purpose of the role is to manage the construction of various projects within the required time frame and within the budgeted costs, while ensuring the required technical standard and quality is achieved. This is a role for someone with a background in commercial construction who has the ability to run construction projects of $10M to $60M+. As a project manager you will take full responsibility for the delivery of the project. This includes accountability for the programme, and leadership from inception to completion.
Duties include:
- Manage full project lifecycle
- Managing risk and maximising opportunity
- Manage the project program to meet deadlines
- Provide expert advice on construction methodologies, sequencing, building issues,
- Management of Safety and Quality Plans
- Effectively lead and work closely with Site Managers and Quantity Surveyors ensuring constructions
costs are managed effectively
About you
- Must have current work rights in NZ
- Be tertiary qualified (or relevant trade background)
- H&S will be at the forefront of everything you do
- Proven experience as a commercial construction project manager
- Have a proven track record in end-to-end construction project management
- Ability to run programmes $10M to $60M+
- Proven ability to identify and resolve issues
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Sound knowledge of procurement and the end-to-end supply chain in the construction sector
- Ability to apply risk assessment and management principles
- Ability to lead a diverse workforce
- Be a technically competent leader
