The Role – as Project Manager, you will take ownership of the successful delivery of major commercial construction projects from planning through to completion. You will be responsible for coordinating teams, managing project resources, and maintaining clear communication with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
You will play a key leadership role on-site, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget while maintaining the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage communication across the project team, providing clear direction and leadership throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop and implement project communication strategies, resource plans, and delivery programmes.
- Manage project schedules, temporary works, and key completion milestones.
- Oversee quality assurance, value engineering initiatives, and the management of long-lead procurement items.
- Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers to ensure scope alignment and resolve technical or commercial conflicts.
- Manage contractual obligations including variations, insurance requirements, and extension of time applications.
- Ensure full compliance with consent conditions, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Lead project planning processes, risk management, and critical health & safety measures.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience managing large-scale commercial construction projects valued at $40M+.
- A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven experience in project programming, financial management, and quality assurance.
- Solid understanding of New Zealand construction regulations and health & safety standards.
