A leading civil construction company with strong growth and major projects ahead is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its Hawke’s Bay team. This is a rare opportunity to work on a variety of civil projects valued up to $10 million with a stable, locally owned organisation that values integrity and excellence.

The Role
The Project Manager will oversee civil projects from planning through to delivery, ensuring quality, safety, and client satisfaction. This position involves managing resources, mentoring a skilled team, and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders. 

Responsibilities: 
  • Managing civil projects up to $10 million in value
  • Leading and mentoring a skilled team
  • Planning and scheduling projects to meet deadlines and budgets
  • Ensuring health and safety compliance at all times
  • Overseeing contractual, financial, and quality assurance requirements
  • Maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Producing accurate project reports and updates

What We’re Looking For
  • 5+ years experience as a Project Manager in civil construction
  • Strong knowledge of NZS3910 and NZS3916
  • Knowledge of various Civil Disciplines, Earthworks, Three Waters, Roading etc
  • Expertise in cost control, financial reporting, and pricing variations.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and OSH guidelines.
  • Ability to price packages of work including variations.
  • Cost control and financial reporting
  • Strong operational and organisational skills
  • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal skills and the ability to influence team members positively
  • High focus on and good understanding of health and safety requirements
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills
  • Ability to mentor, support and grow other team members whilst contributing to a high-performance team delivering projects
