Project Engineer – Civil Infrastructure | Up to $140K | Auckland-Based

Are you an experienced Project Engineer with a passion for delivering high-quality civil infrastructure projects? We’re working with a well-established civil engineering company that specialises in 3 Waters infrastructure across the greater Auckland region. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a team committed to excellence in construction, safety, and innovation.

Location:  Office based in West Auckland - with work across various sites in Auckland

Salary:  Up to $140,000 per annum

Sector:  Civil Engineering – 3 Waters Infrastructure

About the Role As a Project Engineer, you’ll play a key role in supporting crews to deliver complex infrastructure projects. These include pipe-jacking, tunnelling, deep trenching, sheet piling, and shaft construction. You’ll be the bridge between the site teams and project managers, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the main point of contact for clients and project managers
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders, subcontractors, and crews
  • Support project management and site operations
  • Coordinate with operations and HSQE teams to maintain quality standards
  • Plan and delegate tasks for safe and timely project delivery
  • Promote a strong culture of health, safety, and environmental awareness
  • Maintain daily site records and manage documentation
  • Prepare work instructions, risk assessments, and management plans
  • Oversee engineering and quality control, including testing and compliance
  • Assist with programming, sequencing, and commercial reporting
  • Interpret plans and specifications for site teams
  • Undertake training as required
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience in drainage and pipeline construction in New Zealand
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Full NZ driver’s licence
  • Ability to work collaboratively with engineering and construction teams
  • Tech-savvy and confident in representing the company professionally
  • Commitment to health, safety, and wellbeing on site
