Based in Queenstown, the adventure capital of New Zealand is calling an experienced Project Engineer to join an award winning Civil Construction Company. My client is seeking this skilled professional to join their large forward workload in 2025, working across a major subdivision and several other projects across the wider Queenstown-Lakes District.
The successful candidate will manage complex projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage Civil Construction projects, including earthworks, water and roading.
- Collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors and clients to ensure seamless project execution
- Oversee project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure timely delivery
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify compliance with safety regulations and project specifications
- Address and resolve on-site challenges to maintain project momentum and quality
- Provide technical guidance and support to the project team
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation, including reports and records
- Have a minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in Civil Construction
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Have a clean Class 1 driver's licence
- Proven experience with NZS3916 and the Construction Contracts Act
- Excellent leadership qualities and a history of successfully managing staff and subcontractors
- Financial focus towards project costs and proven ability in subcontractor management
- Up to $120,000 plus company vehicle and possible relocation assistance
