This company is seeking a Production Supervisor to join the team at the Auckland processing plant, based at Wiri. In this role, you will be responsible for the day to day supervision of the production team, ensuring safe, efficient and high quality operations. You will oversee production schedules, equipment use, product quality and compliance, while fostering a strong on site culture and supporting staff development.
The position is hands‑on and focused on driving process improvements, maintaining high standards of health and safety, and ensuring customer requirements are consistently met. Production supervisory experience is essential, along with a passion for leading people and building a positive team environment.
- Develop and maintain a positive on site culture among the production team
- Supervise staff performance, providing coaching, support and guidance
- Control production processes and schedules to meet customer requirements and specifications
- Promote a continuous improvement culture based on LEAN principles
- Maintain quality and accuracy of documentation for outgoing finished product
- Manage the preventative maintenance program for the site
- Oversee production‑related projects and initiatives
- Lead monthly production safety meetings and ensure health & safety standards are upheld
- Drive team commitment to work completion, quality control and customer satisfaction
- Identify and reduce hazards and risks — health & safety is paramount
- Previous production supervisory (5+ years) experience essential
- ‘Hands-on’ experience in a production, logistics or mechanical environment with exposure to technology
- An understanding of LEAN methodology is desirable
- Knowledge of Wastedge/EROAD is an advantage
- Must be Health & Safety focused and possess an excellent understanding of Health & Safety procedures
- Minimum intermediate level of computer skills with an organised approach to administrative duties
- Customer focused with effective communication skills (written and verbal)
- A strong background in people management is essential
- Required certifications include First Aid, Forklift & Heavy Truck License
- Energetic personality, reliable and willing to be flexible is desirable
