About the Role

We are looking for a Production Team Leader to join our team on the night shift based in Airport Oaks. This role comes with a variety of responsibilities including production planning, quality and compliance, health and safety and team management. The Production Team leader will work closely with the night shift team members and the other Team leaders and will be looking after a small team. Your duties will include:

  • Leading the shift to achieve production targets and goals
  • Ensuring adequate resources are available for effective execution of the production plan
  • Completing reporting
  • Actively working with the Quality and Compliance team to ensure the quality of the product is up to our usual high standards
  • Ensure Health and Safety procedures are followed and investigate any incidents
  • Conducting and recording regular safety toolbox talks
  • Ensuring a wide range of lean manufacturing approaches are implemented
  • Training staff (new staff members and ongoing training for existing team members)
  • Coaching and developing the team members
  • Assisting the team to operate production machinery when required
The hours are 11:00PM – 07:00AM Sunday to Thursday - you will finish on a Friday morning and will have until Sunday night off as your weekend. This role is on a temp – perm basis and we are looking for somebody who wants to join the team on a long-term basis and is interested in progressing within the company. Please note that although this is a Supervisor role, there will be times when you will need to help the team in factory and it will become a physical role and will involve you being on your feet all day, therefore it is essential that you are physically able.

Skills & Experience

Due to the nature of the role, to be successful in this role you will need:
  • A strong background in a manufacturing or production workplace as a Team Leader or Supervisor
  • Experience working with plastics will be an advantage (ideally extrusion)
  • Effective communication skills and ability to be a decision-maker
  • Good leadership and people management skills
  • Strong IT skills – you will be working on computers daily
  • Excellent understanding of Health & Safety procedures
  • Understanding of accounting principles and employment legislation
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • To be able to pass a Drug & Alcohol test
  • A great attitude and willingness to learn
