About the Role

We are looking for a Production Supervisor for our factory based in Hornby. This role comes with a variety of responsibilities including production planning, quality and compliance, health and safety and plant maintenance. The Production Supervisor will work closely with the Production Manager and Site Manager and will be responsible for a team of over 20 employees. Your duties will include:

  • Leading the shift to achieve production targets and goals
  • Ensuring adequate resources are available for effective execution of the production plan
  • Inventory control
  • Completing reporting
  • Actively working with the Quality and Compliance team to ensure the quality of the product is up to our usual high standards
  • Ensure Health and Safety procedures are followed and investigate any incidents
  • Conducting and recording regular safety toolbox talks
  • Ensuring a wide range of lean manufacturing approaches are implemented
  • Completing one on ones with all team members 6 monthly including development plans and reviewing goals
  • Training staff (new staff members and ongoing training for existing team members)
  • Coaching and developing the team members
  • Assisting the team to manufacture spun concrete pipes – as and when required
Each day and its requirements are different and therefore the shift may exceed 8 hours a day (going to an absolute maximum of 12 hours per day). Your start time will be at 6am. This roster is Monday – Friday based; you will still have your weekends off! This role is on a permanent basis and we are looking for somebody who wants to stay long-term and is interesting in progressing within the company. Please note that although this is a Supervisor role, there will be times when you will need to help the team in factory and it will become a physical role and will involve you being on your feet all day, therefore it is essential that you are physically able.

Skills & Experience

Due to the nature of the role, to be successful in this role you will need:
  • A strong background in a manufacturing or production workplace as a Team Leader or Supervisor
  • Experience working with concrete will be an advantage
  • Effective communication skills and ability to be a decision-maker
  • Good leadership and people management skills
  • Strong IT skills – you will be working on computers daily
  • Excellent understanding of Health & Safety procedures
  • Understanding of accounting principles and employment legislation
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • To be able to pass a Drug & Alcohol test
  • A great attitude and willingness to learn
