Product Manager – FMCG (Non‑Perishable Portfolio) 

National | 3PL Distribution & Agency Brands | Full Product Lifecycle Ownership

Our client is a leading 3PL provider representing multiple agency brands across non‑perishables, beauty & cosmetics, toys, wellness, confectionery, and pet care . With a diverse portfolio and an expanding national footprint, the business partners with retailers, e‑commerce channels, and suppliers to deliver strong market performance across a broad product mix.

This role is central to driving growth, improving product availability, and executing commercially strong product and promotional plans.

Position Overview
The Product Manager is responsible for the full lifecycle of an assigned FMCG product range — from planning and forecasting, through to promotional execution, pricing management, and stakeholder engagement across internal teams, suppliers, agencies, and retail partners.
The role balances commercial planning , market insights , product availability , and brand execution to ensure profitable growth for agency brands within the 3PL environment.
  
Key Responsibilities
  1. Product Planning & Commercial Management
  • Build annual product plans, forecasts, and sales budgets for assigned product ranges.
  • Conduct ongoing market analysis to identify trends, competitor activity, and category opportunities.
  • Define SKU‑level strategies, including pricing, product lifecycle, rationalisation, and NPD proposals.
  • Monitor sales performance, margin targets, and inventory levels, recommending adjustments where required.
  • Prepare commercial reports, insights, and presentations for internal and agency stakeholders.
   2.  Promotion, Marketing & Category Execution
  • Develop and execute promotional calendars aligned with brand strategy and retailer requirements.
  • Support brand and marketing teams with in‑market activation, POS, product launches, and campaigns.
  • Coordinate product content and packaging updates to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Review product performance pre‑ and post‑promotion and optimise future promotional strategy.
  1. Supply Chain, Inventory & Demand Management
  • Work closely with supply chain teams to maintain stock availability and minimise supply disruptions.
  • Review demand forecasts and adjust production or distribution schedules as needed.
  • Liaise with suppliers and 3PL operational teams to ensure accurate inbound planning, replenishment, and order fulfilment.
  • Work with logistics and inventory colleagues to ensure consistency of product across multiple warehouses (a known challenge in multi‑customer 3PL environments).
  1. Stakeholder & Supplier Management
  • Act as the key contact for agency brand owners, ensuring accurate reporting, alignment on strategy, and timely communication.
  • Manage relationships with retailers, distributors, and internal cross‑functional teams (sales, marketing, logistics, finance, customer service).
  • Engage suppliers on NPD, product changes, forecasts, pricing updates, and issue resolution.
  • Influence and collaborate across various teams to drive product success, a core function of high‑performing Product Managers.
  1. Category, Consumer & Market Insight
  • Use market research, customer insights, and sales data to identify gaps, trends, and opportunities across categories such as beauty, wellness, toys, and pet care.
  • Analyse category performance to shape product strategy and improve brand competitiveness.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Experience in FMCG product, category, brand, or commercial management .
  • Experience with agency brands, distribution partners, or 3PL environments  is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to interpret market and performance data.
  • Excellent stakeholder‑management and relationship‑building skills.
  • Commercial acumen with an understanding of pricing, margin, and promotional mechanics.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple categories simultaneously.
  • Proficient in developing product plans, forecasts, and reporting dashboards.
  • Understanding of supply chain operations within FMCG (forecasting, stock management, demand planning).
  • Experience in non‑perishable categories (makeup, toys, wellness, confectionery, pet care) is ideal but not essential.
