About the Role

This permanent full-time position is based at the South Brisbane Head Office with flexibility to work from home one day per week. The role sits on the finance and accounts side of payroll, focusing on reconciliations, compliance, reporting, and audit support.

You’ll work closely with both finance and payroll teams to ensure outputs are accurate, compliant, and aligned with business and legislative requirements.

It’s an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys analysis and process improvement within a complex operating environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reconcile complex payroll-related accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies
  • Review payroll outputs and ensure compliance with legislation, policies, and accounting standards
  • Provide accurate reporting and insights to senior stakeholders
  • Coordinate and support external audits, including financial and compliance audits
  • Oversee payroll creditor payments and support automation and reporting improvements
  • Manage end-of-year payroll accounting declarations and requirements
  • Identify and drive process improvements across compliance and reporting functions
  • Collaborate with finance, payroll, IT, and external vendors to deliver accurate outcomes
About You
  • Degree qualified in Accounting, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in payroll accounting, compliance, or finance within a complex organisation
  • Proven ability to reconcile payroll GL accounts and deliver accurate financial reporting
  • Strong knowledge of payroll-related obligations (e.g. payroll tax, superannuation, salary sacrifice, accounting standards)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, with exposure to large ERP, payroll, or finance systems desirable but not essential
