We are looking for an Operations Manager to join our team based in Onehunga, Auckland. You will be responsible for leading the production team in the factory and will be heavily involved in all site operations. You will work closely with many members of the team including the Site Manager, Planning Team and Administration team. You must have proven knowledge and experience in lean manufacturing and be a key advocate for all things Health and Safety in production. We are looking for somebody who has proven experience in leading a team in a manufacturing environment. As this is a critical role within the business, we are looking for somebody to join us on a long-term basis who wants to really integrate into the team. Your duties will include:
- Leading the factory to achieve production targets and goals
- Working alongside the Site Manager on all site operations
- Ensuring that the customer orders (Made To Order) are ready on time
- Leading the team and inspiring their motivation and attitude
- Ensuring adequate resources are available for effective execution of the production plan
- Completing reporting
- Ensure Health and Safety procedures are followed and investigate any incidents
- Conducting and recording regular safety toolbox talks
- Ensuring a wide range of lean manufacturing approaches are implemented
- Completing one on ones with all team members
- Coaching and developing the team members
- You will be actively involved with ongoing recruitment and training
- Experience in roofing materials production is preferred, however any manufacturing management experience will be beneficial
- Demonstrated strong leadership skills
- Ideally you will come from a background of MTO's (made to order customer requests)
- Effective communication skills and ability to be a decision-maker
- Good leadership and people management skills
- Minimum of 3 years production management experience is essential
- Strong IT skills – you will be working on computers daily
- Recruitment experience
- Excellent understanding of Health & Safety procedures
- Understanding of accounting principles and employment legislation
- Self-motivated and proactive
- To be able to pass a Drug & Alcohol test
- A great attitude and willingness to learn
