Seeking an experienced Plant Fitter/Mechanical Technician for an immediate‑start temp role. Hands‑on work supporting plant and equipment across NZ, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, problem‑solving environment.

- $30-$35 per hour negotiable on skills and experience
- Full time, Minimum 8 Weeks
- Silverdale Location
- Potential for Temp-to-perm opportunities
- Carry out plant maintenance, servicing, and planned preventative maintenance
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across a wide range of equipment
- Ensure all plant and machinery are safe, compliant, and ready for operation
- Overhaul and maintain mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Provide rapid response to plant breakdowns across both the North and South Island
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation
- Manage and monitor stock levels of spare parts and consumables
- Proven experience as a plant fitter or similar mechanical role
- Strong background in cold hydraulics
- Solid working knowledge of general engineering systems
- Strong understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Basic electrical knowledge
- Demonstrated track record of technical delivery and accurate paperwork
- FULL NZ driver’s licence
- NZ residency or valid NZ work visa
- Strong commitment to Health & Safety
- Physically fit and capable of heavy lifting
- Trade qualification (mechanical, fabrication, or related field)
- Experience with electrical diagnostics
- Coded or trade‑certified welding skills
- Background working with drilling or geotechnical equipment including: Drill rigs, Excavator‑mounted drill masts, Grouting systems & Hydraulic power packs
