We’re working with a respected mechanical contractor delivering high-quality HVAC and plumbing solutions across commercial and industrial projects in the South Island.
They’re currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer (HVAC) to join the team — with the role initially based in Christchurch but ultimately relocating to Cromwell.
What you’ll be doing:
Working closely with Project Managers and Estimators, you'll support the delivery of HVAC mechanical projects through design input, documentation, and client liaison. You’ll be involved in:
- Designing and reviewing HVAC systems for commercial and industrial builds
- Preparing documentation and coordinating with consultants and internal teams
- Attending client meetings to support project delivery
- Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors, and on-site teams
- Providing technical input throughout the project lifecycle
What we're looking for:
You’re a technically capable HVAC engineer who enjoys problem-solving and working closely with others. Whether you’re already based in Central Otago or are looking for a lifestyle change away from the city, this role offers variety, growth, and the chance to work in a region that’s going from strength to strength.
We’d love to see:
- A degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or relevant HVAC experience)
- Familiarity with HVAC system design and NZ building codes
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- A proactive, team-focused mindset
- Must have valid New Zealand work rights
