Rex Minerals is an Australian mining company dedicated to the development of its flagship A$1.0B Copper-Gold Hillside Project located on the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia. The project will be a significant contributor to the South Australian economy and will provide employment opportunities for locals and for those looking to move to the Yorke Peninsula.
Rex Minerals are seeking an experienced Manager People & Culture to lead the full People & Culture function through project delivery, workforce ramp-up, operational readiness and into steady-state operations.
About the Role
This is a critical leadership role, ideal for a senior professional with proven greenfield project experience , and the ability to partner closely with executives and leaders to deliver practical, governance-aligned people outcomes in a dynamic mining environment.
Reporting to the Chief Executive – SA and working closely with General Manager People and Culture, the Manager People & Culture will provide strategic oversight and end-to-end accountability across the employee lifecycle, ensuring fit-for-purpose workforce frameworks, systems, and advisory support are in place to enable safe, high-performing operations.
- Workforce strategy, organisational design and mobilisation planning
- Industrial and employee relations leadership, including dispute management and investigations
- Enterprise Agreement support, consultation obligations and compliance-focused governance
- Oversight of end-to-end recruitment delivery and attraction strategies for critical project roles
- Remuneration benchmarking and employment documentation governance
- Develop and lead initiatives that strengthen culture, performance, leadership capability and employee engagement.
- Executive and site-based partnering, reporting, risk assessment and trusted advisory support
- Leadership of People & Culture service standards, team delivery and escalation pathway
You are a seasoned People & Culture leader who brings:
- Senior HR leadership experience within the mining industry
- Demonstrated greenfield and ramp-up expertise, building frameworks, systems and culture
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across executive, operational and corporate stakeholders to deliver outcomes in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Strong IR/ER capability and confidence operating in complex industrial settings
- Proven ability to influence and advise with sound judgement and pragmatism
- A governance-minded, delivery-focused approach aligned to corporate standards
- Permanent leadership position on a major greenfield mining project through to steady state
