Management Accountant
Auckland – Permanent | Full-Time
We are excited to working with a well-established logistics and supply chain organisation to recruit a skilled Management Accountant to join their Auckland-based team. This permanent role plays a key part in delivering accurate and timely financial information to support business performance and decision-making. Acting as a systems superuser, the Management Accountant ensures financial processes, reporting, and contract records are accurate, integrated, and proactively managed.
About the Role
Reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager, the Management Accountant supports month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. The role also maintains a central register of contracts, pricing schedules, supplier terms, and customer agreements to ensure integrity and proactive management of renewal timelines.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing monthly management accounts, financial statements, and variance analysis
- Performing month-end close activities including accruals, journals, and reconciliations
- Managing the production and accuracy of financial reports
- Analysing performance against budget/forecast and providing clear commentary on variances
- Supporting the annual budget process and rolling forecasts
- Assisting in financial modelling, scenario analysis, and forecasting improvements
- Acting as a superuser for finance/ERP systems and supporting users
- Maintaining accurate cost centre, project, and contract accounting structures
- Driving process improvements, automation, and reporting efficiency
- Maintaining a central register of contracts, pricing schedules, supplier terms, and customer agreements
- Monitoring expiry dates and renewal triggers, ensuring timely follow-up
- Collaborating with commercial and operational teams to ensure contractual and financial accuracy
- Providing financial insights and advice to cost centre owners and operational leaders
- Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies
- Supporting internal and external audit processes with accurate documentation
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- 3–5 years’ experience in management or financial accounting
- CA, CPA, CIMA qualified or working towards qualification
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and commercial awareness
- Advanced Excel and ERP system proficiency
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Experience managing contracts and pricing schedules is desirable
