A well-established and growing aquaculture organisation operating across the Marlborough Sounds is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join their close-knit, hands-on team based in Picton. The business is in an exciting growth phase with several new upcoming projects.
This is a varied, practical role well suited to someone who enjoys working across the workshop, vessels, and remote farm sites. You will be part of an experienced, multi-skilled team led by a supportive manager, in a welcoming and collaborative environment.
The role is Monday to Friday, with start and finish times varying between 6:00am and 6:00pm depending on operational requirements. Typical hours are 7:00am–3:30pm. Some weekend work may be required from time to time.
Key responsibilities:
Maintenance, servicing, fault-finding and repair of farm and marine infrastructure, including:
- Diesel-powered vessels, engines, and general marine equipment
- Feed systems, compressors, and dose machines
- Generators, propulsion systems, and water pumps
- Net cleaning systems and associated equipment
- Site servicing across sea farms and hatchery environments
- Vessel and barge maintenance
- Light fabrication and welding work
- Competitive Salary $80,000 - $95,000 (Depending on experience)
