Underground Leading Hand
Join a site that values safety, stability, and skilled tradespeople. We’re seeking an experienced Underground Leading Hand HD Fitter/Mechanic
to work on a modern fleet at a long-life underground gold operation in WA.
You'll start on $82/hr casual
with super on all hours, a stable 8/6 roster, and a direct pathway to permanent employment after max 750 hours
(or sooner based on performance).
What’s on Offer:
- $82/hour casual rate (12-hour shifts, super on all hours)
- 8/6 FIFO roster – option to cover leave and pick up extra swings
- Temp-to-perm after 750 hours (or earlier if you impress)
- Camp with pool, gym & good food – same room each swing, no sharing rotation
- Direct flights from Perth (~1.5 hrs) and quick bus to site (5 minutes)
- Stellar provides PPE & boots for onboarding; daily PPE supplied on-site
- Once you become permanent quarterly bonus (up to 10% of base salary) - Private health insurance - novated leasing on vehicles, portable electronic devices, membership, etc)

- Sandvik jumbos and long hole rigs
- Volvo ITs (L90, L120)
- Normet charge-up gear
- Cert III in Mobile Plant Technology or equivalent trade
- Proven experience on underground drills and heavy earthmoving gear
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Valid C-Class manual licence
- Safety-focused and physically fit for underground work
- Temp-to-perm pipeline – be signed over after 3–4 swings
