About the Role

We are looking for a qualified Electrician to join our client based in Hornby. You will be working within a factory environment completed a variety of tasks across the factory and site. Ideally you will come from an Industrial background however this is not essential. This role is a long-term opportunity and will form part of a small team. You will be working Monday to Friday 06:30AM – 02:30PM and every third week will be 09:00AM – 05:00PM. During this week there will also be a requirement to be on call (with extra benefits for this). Duties will include:
  • Carrying out preventative electrical maintenance tasks in an efficient and effective manner
  • Responding to breakdowns
  • Highlighting electrical maintenance opportunities and updated processes to be more efficient
  • Developing, evaluating and improving electrical manufacturing and engineering methods
  • Assisting in raining the team to perform autonomous maintenance
  • Developing continuous improvement projects
  • Reading, analysing and interpreting electrical drawings (industrial, technical procedures, blueprints etc)
  • Communicating with internal customers and engineering staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure competent production methods
Key Requirements & Responsibilities
  • A minimum of 2 years electrical experience
  • Fully New Zealand registered and qualified is essential
  • Ideally you will have Industrial experience, although we will consider the right candidate with only Domestic
  • Ideally come from a factory environment installing, maintaining and repairing electrical systems
  • Able to start ASAP would be advantageous
  • Preferably familiar with PLCs and PLC controlled plant and machinery
  • Ideally you will have experience with maintaining and installing electrical equipment in hazardous areas
  • Reliable transport to get yourself to and from work
  • Possess a keen and positive attitude and can easily adapt and learn new systems
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug test and have no criminal convictions
  • Must be able to work in a team and work alongside others
