HSE Coordinator – Tauhei Solar Farm
Be part of one of New Zealand’s major renewable energy projects. We’re looking for an experienced HSE Coordinator to support safe delivery of the Tauhei Solar Farm—driving world‑class safety practices across electrical, civil, and construction activities.
In this role, you’ll be the on-site champion for health, safety, and environmental excellence. You’ll work closely with project leaders, contractors, and field teams to promote safe behaviours, manage critical risks, and ensure all works meet legislative and industry requirements.

About the Role
  • Review and implement HSE policies to ensure compliance with company standards and NZ legislation.
  • Conduct daily site inspections, risk assessments, toolbox talks, and behavioural observations.
  • Manage Permit-to-Work system—issuing, receiving, and closing permits for high-risk activities.
  • Complete and maintain accurate HSE documentation, reporting, and record-keeping.
  • Support development and review of SWMs, SWMSs and other task‑specific safety controls.
  • Provide on-site guidance, coaching, and training to ensure safe execution of electrical and construction works.
  • Assist in incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action processes.
  • Support environmental compliance and minimise project impacts.
About you
  • Relevant qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 (General Risk & Workplace Management Regulations 2016).
  • Proven experience reviewing and implementing  SWMs, SWMSs, and risk management controls.
  • Strong capability with Permit-to-Work systems for high-risk activities, particularly electrical isolations and HV work.
  • Practical experience within construction, infrastructure, or renewable energy projects—ideally with exposure to electrical safety and commissioning works.
  • Proficiency in the microsoft suite, especially Excel and reporting workflows.
If you have the skills and experience mentioned above, we would love to hear from you! Apply today or email directly at @stellarrecruitment.co.nz.
