Our client is a prominent civil contracting business in South Australia that specializes in the construction of diverse civil infrastructure for local governments, Department of Transport, mine sites, power plants, pipelines, renewable and marine projects. They have secured a new $15m road upgrade project at Mount Barker where they have an immediate need for an HSE Advisor to join the team on long-term contract basis.
About the Role
This 9-12 month contract role is a wonderful opportunity to get involved in a “live” project through the delivery stages and to showcase your HSE skills at the construction site. The project itself will involve construction of a road, intersection and watermain upgrade. As HSE Advisor you will support the Project Manager and site delivery team to facilitate the smooth running of the project from an HSE perspective to ensure a zero-harm environment. You’ll be working 12 hours per day, while undertaking a daily DIDO which is a 45 minute drive from Adelaide, or less depending on your point of hire. As the successful HSE Advisor you will support the site management team to ensure the company and site workforce adhere to the client’s HSE management system, policies and procedures during the daily construction activity. As required, you will also be involved in incident investigations, risk assessments, site audits and inspections, providing safety input during daily pre-starts and toolbox meetings, system improvement, and inputting and maintaining required safety data for reporting purposes. A rewarding pay rate is on offer of CIRCA $825/Day + Super (*pending experience).
Skills, Experience and Other Requirements:
- Minimum CERT IV OH&S or similar
- Approximately 3+ years’ experience as HSE Advisor /Safety Advisor for civil or construction contractors in Australia
- Able to work on daily DIDO ex-Adelaide (or other nearby location), for the next 9-12 months
- Excellent all-round communication skills
- Existing work rights for Australia, and currently Adelaide/SA based for logistical reasons
- Current Australian C Class Drivers License
