We’re looking for a passionate and proactive HSE Advisor to take ownership of health, safety, and environmental performance across a major solar farm project. You'll be hands-on, present on site, and a respected voice among supervisors, contractors, and stakeholders alike.
About the Role
Reporting to the HSE Manager, your key focus will be maintaining a safe, compliant, and productive work environment while fostering a strong, positive safety culture across the project. You’ll be responsible for:
- Leading site safety initiatives and HSE communications
- Promoting and monitoring PPE usage and safe work practices
- Managing the project hazard and risk registers
- Conducting site audits, incident investigations, and environmental monitoring
- Supporting SOP compliance and competency assessments
- Liaising with contractors, visitors, and stakeholders around HSE
- Facilitating site inductions and safety tours
- Providing regular updates and reports to project leadership
- Identifying training gaps and coordinating on/off-site sessions
- Proven experience in an HSE role within construction, infrastructure, or a project environment
- Strong working knowledge of NZ HSE regulations and standards
- A collaborative, educational approach to influencing others
- Confidence in leading conversations and building relationships across diverse teams
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational skills
- Competency with Microsoft Office and HSE reporting tools
- A current Full NZ Driver’s Licence
