We are currently seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join a well-established civil operation based in the Nelson region. You’ll be joining a supportive team working across both workshop and field service environments. This role involves maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of earthmoving equipment, ensuring machinery remains reliable, safe, and operating at peak performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, service, and repair heavy civil equipment
- Complete preventive maintenance to ensure reliability and safety
- Carry out hydraulic and electrical fault finding and repairs
- Work both independently in the field and collaboratively in a workshop setting
- $40-$45 per hour depending on experience
- Southern Cross insurance
- Guaranteed 40 hours per week (typically averaging around 50 hours)
- Overtime paid at time and a half after 40 hours
- Company car
- Relocation support available for the right candidate
- A relevant trade qualification
- Proven hands-on experience working on heavy equipment
- Strong hydraulics experience
- Ability to work both autonomously and within a team
