Heavy Diesel Mechanic
We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our clients high-performing team servicing and repairing some of the biggest machinery in the industry. - Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy earthmoving and mining equipment including excavators, haul trucks, graders, and bulldozers
- Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance both in the field and workshop settings
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues using advanced diagnostic tools
- Overhaul engines, transmissions, and hydraulic components to OEM specifications
- Document all work completed through digital service reports and follow detailed work instructions
- Work collaboratively with technical and operational teams to minimize downtime and meet production goals
- Always maintain a clean and hazard-free workspace and uphold the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance
- Relevant Trade Qualification – Heavy Diesel or Mobile Plant Mechanic (NZ Certificate or equivalent)
- 3+ years’ hands-on experience with large-scale mobile equipment mining, quarry, or construction fleet exposure preferred
- Strong technical knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and drivetrain components
- Ability to use diagnostic software and read technical drawings and schematics
- Effective communicator who can work independently and within a team
- Physically fit with a solid focus on safety, reliability, and precision
- Full Class 1 Driver’s License
