About the Opportunity:
Our client is expanding and seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join their team in Whanganui. In this role, you'll work across a fleet of buses, ensuring they are maintained, repaired, and serviced to top standards. You’ll be part of a supportive workshop team, working Monday to Friday, with occasional call-outs for breakdowns and urgent repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose vehicle faults and repair mechanical issues.
- Conducting regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure safety and reliability.
- Collaborating with a team of skilled mechanics and technicians to achieve top-notch results.
- Completing relevant paperwork.
- $40-$42 per hour
- Tool allowance
- Monday to Friday schedule
- Large, stable company with nationwide presence
- Call-out bonus
- Weekly pay cycle
- 2–3 years of experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic
- Skilled in diagnostics with a solid background using diagnostic tools
- Hold a Class 2 & 4 Licence, or be willing to obtain it
