Health & Safety Advisor – Auckland Based
We are excited to be partnering an Auckland-based civil construction business with a long-standing reputation for delivering high-quality land development projects to recruit a Health & Safety Advisor position.
Founded in the 1980’s, this company offers civil engineering, construction and management services and emphasises a commitment to health and safety, ongoing training, and long-term client relationships are central to its continued success.
About the Role
Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, this position offers a mix of field and office-based responsibilities. Most days begin on-site delivering toolbox talks and supporting daily H&S activities, followed by office-based work from the Albany based office.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion health and safety practices across multiple projects
- Educate and coach staff on workplace hazards and safe practices
- Prepare and maintain project H&S documentation
- Conduct site inspections and emergency drills
- Support incident reporting and investigations
- Assist with training and development initiatives
- Analyse safety data and contribute to continuous improvement
- Administer safety systems and documentation
- Collaborate with teams across Auckland to ensure compliance and engagement
- Relevant H&S qualification
- Strong communication skills, especially with field staff
- High-level interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; SiteDocs experience a plus
- A practical, solutions-focused attitude – someone who “makes it happen”
- Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
- A welcoming personality, sense of humour, and strong character
- Proven track record of improving health, safety, and well-being outcomes
