About the role:
We are excited to be recruiting a Health & Safety Coordinator for a leading facilities management company who’s passionate about keeping people safe, systems sharp, and standards high. In this role you will drive health and safety initiatives across a multi-site franchise network - driving compliance, training, and audit readiness while supporting some HR processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementing and maintaining health & safety systems across multiple sites, ensuring compliance with NZ legislation and internal standards.
  • Investigating incidents, near misses, and notifiable events, ensuring timely reporting, root cause analysis, and closure of corrective actions.
  • Supporting ISO certifications (9001, 14001, 45001) by preparing documentation, coordinating audits, and maintaining compliance registers.
  • Facilitating training and inductions, including refresher courses, and onboarding sessions for new employees and franchisees.
  • Maintaining accurate HSEQ records, including hazard registers, incident logs, and training documentation.
  • Providing first-line HR support to franchisees, assisting with recruitment documentation, employment packs, and contract transitions.
  • Coordinating site-level audits and inspections, ensuring follow-up actions are tracked and completed.
  • Collaborating with franchisees and employees, building strong relationships and promoting a culture of safety and compliance.
About you:
  • Proven experience in similar Health & Safety positions
  • Qualification in Health & Safety (Cert/Dip/Degree)
  • Strong knowledge of NZ H&S legislation and HR compliance
  • Experience with ISO audits and certification processes
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and reporting skills
  • HR experience or qualification is preferred
  • First Aid certificate is a plus
