About the opportunity:
We are working with a junior mining and manufacturing company focused on advancing a high-potential resource project through to development and production. With strong stakeholder support and a clear growth pathway, we are now entering the critical stage of completing a Bankable Feasibility Study (BFS) and Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to position the project for construction. The projects footprint is not limited to Australia and the role may involve some international travel.
The Role:
This role will oversee the delivery of the BFS and EIS and will drive the project and company schedule, ensuring high-quality outputs, compliance with regulatory requirements, ensuring project timelines are met and costs are managed. We believe the position would suit an up and comer – who is still hands on, and who is keen to wear multiple hats.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the BFS process , coordinating inputs across geology, mining, metallurgy, manufacturing/processing, infrastructure, and financial modelling.
- Oversee preparation and submission of the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) , managing consultants and engaging with regulators and stakeholders.
- First 6 months focused on document creation, review and editing for both BFS and EIS. Need to have the ability to write the documents at the first instance
- Develop and manage budgets, schedules, and risk registers for project studies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government, community, and other external stakeholders.
- Provide strategic input to the Board on project viability, risks, and opportunities.
- Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering, Process Engineering, Metallurgy or related discipline.
- Minimum 10-15 years’ experience in the mining industry, including senior leadership in project development roles.
- Demonstrated success in managing BFS/EIS processes within junior or mid-tier mining companies.
- Strong understanding of mining approvals and regulatory frameworks.
- Commercial acumen with the ability to translate technical outcomes into business decisions.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
