We are looking for a Forklift Operator to join our team at our plant based in Levin. We are looking for a Forklift Operator to join our production team where you will be responsible for operating the forklift moving a variety of products and materials around the site. Therefore you must be a skilled and experienced Forklift Operator to be successful in this role. This role does require some heavy lifting so it is required that you are physically fit. You will attend a full site induction as well as full training on SOPs and you will have the opportunity to progress through the levels – this is encouraged. The hours of work initially will be Monday to Friday 04:00AM – 02:30PM however once you are fully trained you will move to later starts. The exact times are yet to be confirmed but it may be similar to 10:00AM – 06:00PM. The main duties include:
- Loading and unloading trucks
- Managing stock in the production area
- Mixing materials and assisting with lifting of bags
- Operating forklifts safely around the factory
- All scrap is monitored and minimised where possible
- Keeping the production area clean, tidy and in order
- Strive to upskill and nominate areas for potential improvement
- Demonstrate good numeracy and literacy skills; as well as good mechanical understanding
- Must have a valid OSH forklift certificate
- Must be experienced in operating forklifts (ideally in a production environment)
- Reliable transport to get yourself to and from work
- No criminal history
- Possess a keen and positive attitude and can easily adapt and learn new systems
- Must be a team player
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug test
- Thorough with good attention to detail
- Physically fit and able to do some heavy lifting
