Fitter Turner - Machinist

We are looking for a Fitter Turner/Machinist to join our team based in Rolleston. This is a varied role and you will be undertaking many duties. As well as all general fitting and turning duties, you will also be required to undertaking welding and some general Machine Operation duties, including operating a lathe. You will be fitting and assembling components using precision tools and following complex engineering drawings. There will be a focus on Stainless Steel fabrication.
You must ensure to follow up on assigned work daily and make sure it is executed safely and to the highest standards. Some of our machinery is highly technical and therefore we need mechanically-minded people to join our team. Your duties will include maintaining all documentation and records accurately (both written and electronic). You will also be completing some on-site work which is a physical role.
This role will be based in Rolleston and is a Monday to Friday day shift role. Please note this is a permanent full-time position.
Skills & Experience
- Ideally you will be trade qualified, however we will consider your experience
- Experience with lathe machining components is essential
- Proven experience in fitting and turning
- Proven experience in welding and fabrication
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Fabrication of stainless steel is advantageous
- Must be Health and Safety focused
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug test
- Possess a keen and positive attitude and can easily adapt and learn new systems
- Thorough with good attention to detail
- Interested in learning new things
- Physically able
