Field Service Engineer
  • $80 000 - $85 000 base
  • Company Vehicle and Fuel
  • Full training given through structured in-house and field-based

Stellar Recruitment is working with a leader in sheet metal fabrication machines and Technology representing a reputable global company. 

The  ideal candidate  will have strong technical hands on experience in servicing, installing and diagnosing machinery on and off site.
  
This is a permanent Monday to Friday role, working within the Service Department representing the brand across the  South Island. 
  
The team prides itself on quality customer service, a high level of workmanship and efficiency that benefit their loyal customer base within New Zealand. 
    
To be successful in this role you will have:
  • Engineering qualification (Degree or Diploma), either mechanical or electrical
  • Ability to analyse and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, optical, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to use hand tools, Volt/Ohm meter, and Oscilloscope
  • Working knowledge of computers and Windows OS
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Min 5 years' experience working on CNC, Blanking, Press brake and general fabrication machinery.

  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated
  • Ability to work independently under pressure with offsite support when required
  • Flexible approach to working hours and travel
  • Ability to work away from home when necessary
  • Have the relevant working rights in New Zealand
Key responsibilities include:
  • Regular routine service of fabrication machines and associated equipment
  • Diagnose, and rectify machine breakdowns
  • Installation, integration of new machines 
  • Perform Machinery demonstration, operation, and safety aspects to clients
  • Promote tooling and maintenance contract sales
  • Being accountable and responsible for servicing and supporting a customer through all aspects of the customer's ownership of the machine.
  • Complete status (service) reports daily
