Day to day in the role, You'll work closely with Regional Managers and operational leaders, playing a direct role in securing quality, profitable work.
Your ability to build accurate, commercially sound tenders will directly influence the pipeline and direction of the business.
Responsibilities
- Leading the full tender lifecycle — from initial kick-off through to submission
- Preparing first-principles pricing, detailed take-offs and cashflow-positive bids
- Building strong supplier and subcontractor relationships to sharpen competitiveness
- Monitoring market trends and competitor activity to refine pricing strategy
- Improving procurement processes and maintaining an accurate supply chain database
- Embedding lessons learned through post-tender reviews to drive smarter bidding
Essential:
- 4+ years' experience in civil estimating or civil engineering
- Strong knowledge of NZ contract conditions (including 3910/3915 and the Construction Contracts Act)
- Proven commercial acumen with strong negotiation and influencing skills
- Solid understanding of the Bay of Plenty and/or Waikato civil infrastructure market
- Site-based civil experience
- Experience with Candy (CCS)
- Working knowledge of MS Project, Procore or Jobpac
