About the opportunity: Stellar Recruitment, in partnership with Enaex Australia, is seeking an experienced Drill & Blast Engineer, Senior D&B Engineer or D&B Specialist to join our growing Mining Technical Solutions (EMTS) team.
This is a Perth office-based technical leadership role with occasional site travel (typically <20%), ideal for candidates wanting to stay close to the technical heart of mining without living FIFO or being site-based full time.
You will be at the forefront of blast optimisation, continuous improvement, and technical project delivery, working alongside operations and customers to drive safer, smarter, and more efficient blasting outcomes across multiple WA sites.

You will be responsible for:
  • Delivering high-quality technical mining services for drill and blast activities.
  • Providing in-field support and training to operational teams to ensure quality standards are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Project management, supporting key technical initiatives and value delivery.
  • Championing a culture of continuous improvement in drill and blast methodologies.
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory, legislative, and company safety requirements.
  • Offering technical support across regions regarding product application and best practices.
  • Collaborating with operations to enhance safety performance and operational outcomes.
  • Lead the product development, testing, evaluation and implementation processes.
  • Leading or assisting in investigations related to drilling and blasting performance, misfires and product quality.
  • Supporting the evolution and optimization of blasting methods and systems.
  • Participating in audits of systems and operational processes.
What you need
  • Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering, Civil, Chemical, or Geomechanical Engineering.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated report writing and verbal communication capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant blasting software.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams.
  • Strong technical knowledge of drilling and blasting operations in mining.
  • Current driver's licence
  • National Police Clearance (Less than 3 months old or willing to obtain).
  • State-relevant Security Clearance for handling explosives (or willing to obtain)
  • Applicants must hold permanent work rights for Australia.
