We are currently on the lookout for a Diesel Fitter/Marine Engineer with the drive to deliver precision and reliability every time.

  • $40-$50 Per hour experience dependent

What You’ll Be Doing: As a key member of the team, you’ll be hands-on with diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of marine diesel engines and propulsion systems. Your work will ensure clients’ vessels stay at peak efficiency—whether that’s servicing a pleasure craft or refitting a commercial powerhouse.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect, maintain, and overhaul diesel engines and auxiliary marine systems
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic faults using diagnostic tools
  • Perform alignments, installations, and adjustments of propulsion and steering systems
  • Document all work performed clearly and accurately
  • Ensure compliance with maritime safety, environmental, and operational standards
  • Liaise with clients and suppliers to maintain service quality and timelines
  • Contribute to a strong safety culture and team collaboration
Who You Are:
  • Certified Diesel Mechanic, Marine Engineer, or equivalent trade qualification
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on marine engine or heavy diesel experience
  • Comfortable working with inboard/outboard systems, hydraulics, and cooling systems
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Strong communication skills with a professional client-facing attitude
  • Full NZ driver’s license
  • Adaptable and proactive, whether dockside or at sea
