About the client:
   
Harmony is the largest gold producer by volume in South Africa and is a significant operator of gold tailings retreatment facilities. In Papua New Guinea, Harmony owns and operates the Hidden Valley mine and owns 50% of the Tier 1 Wafi-Golpu copper-gold project. In Australia, Harmony owns the high-grade CSA copper mine in Cobar, NSW and is constructing the Eva Copper Mine in Cloncurry, QLD. These assets are supported by the Harmony Australasia regional corporate office located in Milton, Brisbane.
  
The Eva Copper Mine is a significant and strategically important project for Harmony marking a major milestone in the company’s copper growth strategy and its long-term commitment to Northwest Queensland. The mine will have a minimum life of 15 years and will involve mining multiple open cut pits providing copper bearing ore to a concentrator. Front-end engineering design is complete, and mine construction is expected to take up to 30 months with first production targeted for the second half of the 2028 calendar year.
  
About the role:
  
This is a site-based role supervising civil construction across a major program of works. You will work closely with contractors and project teams to ensure construction, safety, quality, program and environmental requirements are met on site.
   
Key responsibilities include:

Supervising civil construction activities to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, standards and statutory requirements.
  • Developing and managing daily work plans and monitoring progress against time, cost and quality targets.
  • Acting as the key point of contact for contractors and the owner’s team on technical issues and site queries.
  • Preparing and maintaining safe work practices and on-site documentation.
  • Liaising and supporting project teams to support efficient delivery and maintaining program. 
This role suits a hands-on civil construction supervisor who thrives in a site environment and enjoys turning plans into safe, high-quality outcomes.
  
This role will be DIDO from local communities or FIFO from Brisbane or Townsville to our site in Cloncurry NW QLD, with local candidates highly regarded. Local employees are paid a regional allowance and a competitive salary. Roster is 14 days on, 7 days off.
   
Please note: this is a maximum term role aligned with the project completion and close out, anticipated to be 31 Dec 2026.
  
Experience Required:
  • Strong project supervisory experience delivering significant and complex programs of works.
  • Proven experience managing contracts and contractors on civil projects.
  • Field leadership experience with strong decision-making skills.
  • Problem solver with attention to detail and ability to maintain project pace.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and collaboratively with contractors.
